Boiled Custard (Bourbon or No)

 I never had a copy of Mommee’s Boiled Custard Recipe. However, this one posted by Velma in Tennessee must be the one. Every Christmas/New Years we had boiled custard.  It is good and cold, like drinking ice cream.  I have made it many times and it takes considerable practice to get it just right. Thick, but not lumpy. Many people add bourbon, but I like mine plain.
